I got explored!

Yes indeed - I got explored!
This is one of the best things that can happen to you in Flickr. Your picture will be chosen as one of the best pictures of the day.
Picture was taken for Me Again Monday group - group for self portraits with new theme for each week. This weeks theme was Best of 2011. I chose photography as something I'm really happy for this year and this is something that even made me go in Flickr. And I got Explored.
(I wasn't really happy about the outcome and Thibault told me he doesn't like the picture beacuse it's too blurry...) ...but I got Explored!

I'm proud of myself.
...even if I have a dirty lense...

A turkey never voted for an early Christmas*

Where has all this time went? Christmas is in 4 days and there's NO Christmas spirit. Not at all. Outside it's raining non-stop. There hasn't been even 2cm of snow this year. Degrees stay stubornly above 0.

It looks like children feel a bit the same way - this year noone wanted to go to get the Christmas tree with men.
Despite all that we have done some preperations.
All the songs and verses for Santa's visit are learned and rehersed.
Gingerbreads are done!

Everybody helped.

Outcome looks stunning and delicious!

Even when right now it doesn't feel like Christmas at all, I'm still hopeful and pretty sure that Christmas feeling sneaks in soon enough!

Everyone, have a jolly good Chritmas!

Bacchus

This was the project I wanted to do for a long time. I had great expectations and I didn't had to dissapoint. Except the fact that I followed the pattern word by word and it was supposed to be for size 36...turned out to be size 39 or even bigger...

Yarn used was Jojoland Melody Superwash. Needles 2.0mm.

Great pattern! Probably will do again sometimes.

Waldorf fair.

This weekend we went to Waldorf fair. It was a lot of fun with different handcraft stands, lottery, live music, cafe with homebaked cakes and cookies, fairytales for children, auction and different handcraft workshops!

Stupid me, I left my camera at home so I had to take pictures later of what we got.

Here's a cat that Kristofer made himself in one of the handcraft workshops. He made mummy proud!
This is what Kristofer won with lottery - old children's storybook and

a brooch for me! I also bought 3 of those lovely brooches! They are so simple and beautiful!
Kristofer made his very first purchase with his own money. Later at home he decorated it a bit...
Two of those beautiful angels live at our home now. 1 will be a gift to my mother.

We had a lot of fun and can't wait for the next years fair!

Charity socks.

The official waiting-for-Christmas time has begun. Not a bad time to do some good. Jaanika asked me to knit socks for Waldorf fare. Profit goes to support Keila’s Waldorf school.

Pattern I used was very simple - Strawberry Field from Ulla 3/07 I've used it before for Little Miss Liisa's socks. Yarn - 100% wool.

I hope those socks will find some cold feet to warm up.

Beef and ale stew.

Saturday I tried Jamie Oliver's recipe beef and ale stew. I tend to be a bit afraid of Jamie's recipes because they usually have some little twist and this is also usually where things go wrong for me. But this was absolutely delicious! And easy. Well, you need to have at least 3 hours for cooking...

Roughly chop carrots, 2 celery sticks and 2 onions. Fry them with a bit of olive oil for 10 minutes.
Add 500g beef cubes, 1 pack crushed tomatoes, 1 heaped tablespoon of flour and 500ml delicious Guinness.Let it boil for 2,5h under the lid and 30 minutes without the lid. Enjoy!
